Excelent Work!! And I am jealous about the names: Kai, Tek, Kal, etc, so simple and beautiful words. I am not a skilled map designer, but I am working in a fantasy novel and need in order tu build the story. But I'm having a headache with distances. I am working in a scale in which 2 cm are 100 km , but that relation must change depending the latitude. Any Advice? The lines in your map are saying that the island of KAL is a pole? Greetings!
thanks the names were invented by my client who is building a complete world and thought this all over. The map is not linked to a specific position on a globe, or projection. The lines are not grids but (decorative, not exact) rhumb lines, used on maps for navigation. To determine exact distances on your map, this depends bascially on the size of the area (or do you have a complete globe?) you want to depict, and the projection you used for your map. So I cannot say some generals things about that without more details. To get some insight in how this works I recommend you check out [link]. cheers!
