Handpainted Fantasy Map Concept by Djekspek Handpainted Fantasy Map Concept by Djekspek
Was going through my archive and found this laying around in my concept folders. More or less a try-out for a more realistic looking map and colorpalette. Didn't care too much for it back then, but when I look at it now I think it actually has potential as a style. Landmass was inspired by the UK to give it a feeling of 'I know this place'. cheers!

I was wondering if I could have permission to use this, for my own help, in visualizing a fantasy world I'm making? Or, if I could purchase the rights. Thanks

Just curious, did you use any sort of "mountain brushes" or are they all done by hand? Great work! I need to make some mountain ranges, and I really like they way yours look... Any tips? :)

thanks :) I'm afraid they are all handpainted so no mountain brushes used. Roughly the process I use is: first draw the ranges, then paint the colors, then use a grunge brush in overlay to create texture, add some hi-lites with bright yellow in overlay mode and finally add more linework for details and dark shadows... not much help I guess but that's how I did it :)
