I use CC3 to do my maps, which helps as I can then alter names where necessary, and I change place names a lot.

Should the text on a map blend into the terrain or appear to stand out more?

Hi, guess it depends on the purpose, for a complete handdrawn old look I'd go for blended. But when readability is more important i'd let it stand out a bit more...

Do you mind if I ask you about how long it took you to make this and what program you used? I have the full copy of Campaign Cartographer and want to start generating maps for my Pathfinder Games. I am, what you would call a newb at it. I can hand draw maps with the best..but the pc made ones are so very nice and colorful.
In advance, thank you for your time.

Hi, cant remember how long it took, probably 2-3 days. The patterns for the border I made some time before (probably also a days work or so). I used only Photoshop for this. But CC is also an awesome program to make maps! good luck with your campaign!

when this came up, I was like "oh wow." totally killer map here. How did you do the title with the embellished border and everything?

thanks man, I created the border using some pictures of old victorian ornaments, 'cut' those to pieces and rearranged them as a border.
